Abstract

The present work is devoted to study the general geological setting and structure setup of Sequoia reservoir within El Wastani Formation in the north-western margin of the Nile Delta. Also, a petrophysical analysis was made for reservoir rock through calculation of petrophysical parameters (Porosity, shale volume from Gamma Ray, shale volume from ØN-ØD Cross-plot (Vsh N-D), permeability (K) neutron porosity correction (ØN corr), density porosity correction (ØD corr), porosity effect (Ø eff), formation factor (F), water saturation irreducible (SW Irr),fluid type in zones, The ratio of pore volume to grain volume (Φz), Reservoir quality index (RQI), Flow zone indicator (FZI), water saturation (Sw), Bulk volume water (BVW), hydrocarbon saturation (Sh), Water saturation of the flushed zone (Sxo), recovery factor (RF), flow unit characterization factor or Hydraulic unit (HT) and volumetric recoverable gas reserves (Gr) in each of studied six wells to determine gas detection in shaly formation with a neutron/density porosity.
