Abstract

This thesis addresses the coverage problem in wireless sensor network (WSN). the wirless sensoe network is a combination of sensing , computation, andcommunication into a single tiny device.
Each sensor has at least an embedded processor, and low power coverage redius. it acts as an information source, for sensing and collecting data samples from the environment. each sensor or actuator becomes part of the overall infrastructure.
peer-to-peer networking protocols allow mesh-like interconnect for transferring data between thousands of sensors or tiny devices in a multi-hop manner. additionally, the network can automatically compensate for sensor node failures. the concept
of WSN is based on a simble block sensing.
there are many objectives for using WSN. the objective will depend on the application and the design. one possible objectives is the best quality of service. another objective is the optimal converage for the network. many apllication, such as military
application, boders monitoring, target tracking, etc., focus on the best converage. many researchs have been done in that field to find the best coverage for various applications.
