Abstract

Two field experiments were carried out during successive winter seasons of 2013/2014 and 2014/2015 in a Private the two Farm at Abo-Hammad Region, Sharkia Governorate, to study the effect of plant density, bio and mineral nitrogen fertilizers on plant growth, chemical constituents and yield and its components of some pea cultivars. The obtained results could be summarized as follows: Planting cv. Lincoln at three sides of the row gave the tallest plants and recorded the maximum values of number of both branches and leaves/ plant. Planting cv. Lincoln on one side of the row gave the highest values of dry weight of roots, shoots and total dry weight/ plant and recorded maximum values of chlorophyll a, b, total (a+b) and carotenoides in leaf tissues, number of pods/ plant, average pod weight and yield/ plant., whereas planting cv. Lincoln on four or three sides of the row recorded the highest total yield/faddan. Planting cv. Alaska on one side of the row increased N, P, K and total carbohydrates in roots and shoots. The interaction between biofertilizer at 800 g/fed. Rhizobium and mineral nitrogen at 30 or 45 kg/fed., increased plant height and number of leaves/plant and nodule number/plant, chlorophyll a, b, total (a+b) and carotenoides concentration in leaf tissues, N,P, K and total carbohydrates in shoots and roots. On the other side the interaction between biofertilizer at 400 g/fed. Rhizobium and mineral nitrogen at 30 kg /fed. gave the highest dry weight of shoots, number of pods/ plant, average pod weight, yield / plant and total yield /feddan.
