Abstract The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of using classwide peer tutoring strategy in developing some EFL reading comprehension skills among second year preparatory stage pupils. The participants of the present study included ( 23) pupils at Sandanhour preparatory school for girls in Qalubia governorate. The instruments of the present study included a list of EFL reading comprehension skills required for this stage and an EFL reading comprehension test. The present study followed the one group pre/post test design. In this design, the dependent variables are measured before and after the experiment. The EFL reading comprehension test was administered to the participants prior the application of the strategy as a pretest. After carrying out the strategy, the EFL reading comprehension test was post administered. Findings of the study revealed that the EFL reading comprehension skills of the participants were developed as a result of using classwide peer tutoring strategy. |
