Abstract Hypospadias is a congenital abnormality of the male genitalia characterized by incomplete development of the urethra so that the external urethral meatus is on the ventral surface of the penis or on the scrotum or perineum, rather than at the tip of the glans. Hypospadias is a common congenital anomaly with an incidence of 1 per 200 to 300 live male births, and 65% of this anomaly of the distal type . Surgical repair of hypospadias has a history of more than 150 years. Today more than 300 surgical procedures with accompanying modifications have been proposed for the repair of hypospadias . Our study aimed to evaluate the meatal mobilization technique for coronal and subcoronal hypospadias repair Thirty patients with primary glannular, coronal and subcoronal hypospadias are repaired with technique the results were only one uretherocutaneous fistula, four cases had meatal stenosis responded to daily dilation at home by the parents, three cases had meatal retraction need reoperation, one case of postoperative infection responded to antibiotics ,the shape of the meatus was vertical in 27 patients and rounded in 3 patients, three of seven patients had residual chordee,26 of the parents were satisfied,operation time was 75-115 minutes and hospital stay was 5-10 days,this techinqu gives good results as regard fistula,meatal stenosis and the cosmotic appearance. |
