Abstract

This study was conducted to evaluation of nutritional status of diabetes in some hospitals, Cairo governorate. One handred diabetic patients were selected from visitors to a private hospital and a government hospital of hospitals Cairo Governorate.They were divided into two groups, each of them 50 patients in each hospital and divided the sample in a way identical to males and femaleswas the work of a comparative study between the private hospital and government hospital.The study evaluates social and economical situation, Health status, eating habits , assess the physical measurements and Some laboratory tests such as blood sugar, kidney and liver functions and complete blood picture were used form aretrieval 24 hours for a week and in the end of the experiment data were collected and tabulated statistically to get results.The results showed that the average intake of calories in the government hospital is greater than in private hospital were approaching RDA by 94% inprivate hospital and 97% government hospital.The average intake of protein in both hospitals more than RDA, while the average intake of fat in both hospitals was Convergent 86.93 ± 7.18 g/day in the private hospital, and 87.8 ± 4.99 g/day at the government hospital, While for intake of carbohydrates average intake in the government hospital larger than the average intake in the private hospital229.44 ± 5.16 g/day and 206.3 ± 9.29 g/day respectively .Also results showed that there is no shortage in the average intake of mineral but intake was much bigger than RDA in both hospitals.Regarding the average intake cholesterol in private hospital higher than the average intake in government hospital 465.22 ± 15.35 mg/dl and 461.87 ±12.84 mg/dl respectively. Statistical analysis shows a great moral relationship between both hospital for calcium, sodium, vitamin A, vitamin C , vitamin E, vitamin B1 and vitamin B2 (P <0.001). and the among morale relationship between both hospital for (carbohydrates and niacin) (P <0.01), and the moral relationship between both hospitals for ( vitamin D) (P <0.05).
