Abstract The thesis aim at preparing and classifling some new oxime compounds and their metal complexes, so as to discover some effective components, which will be used as anti-tumor and antimicrobial diseases. First part of our study will be beginning by preparing guanidine oxime complex which is produced from condensation of oxime and aromatic amine . The thesis is composed of three main chapter in addition to Arabic and English summary along with scientific reference related to the thesis The first chapter: - introduction In this chapter, a literature survey was carried out and included the following of items:- a) Introduction about importance of oximes and Schiff bases. b) Importance of oximes and modes of bonding of oxime in metal complexes. c) Definition, nomenclature and preparation of oximes and Schiff bases. d) Importance of oximes and schiff bases and their metal complexes in the following fields of applications:- 1- Biological application: -Antitumor, anti-mycobacterial and antimicrobial activity. - Review of literatureonoximes and schiff bases. Formation of schiff bases and classified as bidnetate and bis-bidentate Schiff bases. The second chapter: Experimental In this chapter, the methods used for the preparation of new oxime ligand4,4\((bis(phenylamino)methylene)bis(azoanylylidene)bis(hydroxyi mino)pentan-2-one ligand(H2L), (1) and preparation of its metal complexes for copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), manganese(II), zinc(II),zerconyl(II),and mercury(I1) . The techniques used for characterization of new ligand and its complexes were also described which included: elemental, thermal analyses, infrared spectra, proton magnetic resonance (’H-NMR), mass spectra, electronic absorption spectra (UV-VIS), electron spin resonance (ESR), magnetic also described biological activity of the oxime ligand and its metal complexes and determine The cytotoxic activity of the ligands and its complexes against cell lines of cancers cell and the invitro cytotoxicity properties against Gram positive bacterium (Bacillus subtilis), Gram negative bacterium (Escherichia coli). The third chapter:- Results and discussion The analytical and spectral studies showed that the ligand 4,4\((bis(phenylamino)methylene)bis(azoanylylidene)bis(hydroxyimino)p entan-2-one ligand(H2L)behaves as neutral tridentate ligand. The second, the ligand behaves as monobasic tridentate. The last mode, the ligand behaves as monobasic tetra dentate ligand Complexes proved that they have biological activity as anti-tumor and it was found that Cu complex (2) and Hg complex (16) gave effective results against human breast MCF-7 cancer cell line and also Zn complex (8) gave effective result against human liver HEPG-2 cancer cell line and also results proved that complexes have biological activity as anti bacteria and found that Hg complex (1 6), Co complex (10) and Zn complex (7) gave effective results against different types of bacteria. |
