المستخلص Abstract This research, ”Forms of ’Taking’ in the Holy Qur’ān and the Problematic of Its Translation for English Orientalists,” consists of four chapters preceded by an introduction and a preface. It ends with a conclusion that summarizes the most important findings of the study, and followed by the list of references. The introduction is concerned with the definition of the research topic, methodology, aims, difficulties that faced the researcher, and the previous studies. The preface sheds light on identifying the subject of the research, the context which is necessary for meaning defining, and providing an introduction about the chronicle of the Holy Qur’ān translation and also the biography of the English translators (Sale- Rodwell- Palmer- Arberry). The first chapter examines (took akhatha) form in lexicon and Qur’ān context. The second chapter analyzes the meaning of (took ittækhatha) in lexicon and Qur’ān context. In chapter three, the study exposes the different senses of ’taking’ synonyms. Finally, the fourth chapter discusses the translation of ’taking’ forms and its synonyms into English by the English orientalists. Finally, a conclusion provides the most important results of the research, followed by the list of sources and references. |
