Abstract Psoriasis is one of the common chronic, inflammatory, hyperproliferative skin diseases with severe impact on the quality of the patients’ life. Although the etiology of Ps is still unknown, there were some factors involved in development of Ps including hypoxia. The regional hypoxia is most likely existed in psoriatic lesions. Glucose transporters-1 is one of the first membrane transporters to be purified and cloned. It is expressed particularly in the brain (including the blood brain barrier) and erythrocytes while it is not exist in normal skin. |
