Abstract
This research deals with The Architectural Style in
Cairo during the Reign of Muhammed ʿAli (1805AD-
1848AD) and Khedive Ismail period (1863AD-1879AD)
”Tourist Analytical Study” Which is a very important
period in the modern history due to it represents the
beginning of the Egyptian Renaissance in the Modern
History, and it also had a great effect in making Egypt an
effective power in the political, economic, social and
military aspect. Moreover, this period, with its all historical
events, was the real cause behind the radical change in the
Egyptian policies and the social formation which extremely
affected the architecture at that time. Also the thesis
includes a tourist analytical study to show the important of
the Archeological sites and the side seeing that existed at
that period to put it on the spot and to make it more
attractive to the tourists. The research is divided into five
chapters beginning with an introduction and ending with a
conclusion as follow:Chapter One: entitled ”The Reign of Muhammad ʿAli
1805AD - 1848AD” This chapter discusses many points as
follow: fighting to take control of Egypt after the French
campaign which was showing up through the foreign
elements such as the ottomans, the mamluks, and the
British. The early life of Mohammed ʿAli and his ascending
to the throne. The internal and external political conditions
in this period. we also deal with the economic status
including agriculture, industry and trade. After that, we
review the social and cultural status. And the influence of
all the previous on the architectural style of this period. Chapter Two: entitled ”The Architecture style in the
reign of Muhammad ʿAli.” This chapter discusses many
points as follow: The construction of Cairo during this
period. We discuss the Architecture styles used at that time.
Also, we described the Archeological buildings that existed
in this period which we can use in the tourism field.
Chapter three: entitled ”The Reign of Khedive Ismāʿīl
(1863-1879) ”This chapter discusses many points as
followed: This chapter has a look over the early life of
Khedive Ismail and the way he ascended to the throne.
Then, we are going to review the internal and external
political conditions in this period. We also deal with the
economic status including agriculture, industry and trade.
After that, we review the social and cultural status. And the
influence of all the previous on the architectural style of
this period.Chapter Four: entitled ”The Architecture Style in the
Reign of Khedive Ismāʿīl.” This chapter discusses many
points as follow: The construction of Cairo during this
period. We discuss the Architecture styles used at that time.
Also, we described the Archeological buildings that existed
in this period which we can use in the tourism field.
Chapter Five: entitled ”Tourist Analytical Study” This
chapter includes a symbol of Questionnaire which was
distribute to show the important of the Archaeological sites
mentioned in this research and to make the sites more
attractive to the tourists.
Conclusion in which I summarized the most important
results and recommendations.
