Abstract
Augmentation of the maxillary sinus floor is a well-documented technique and is generally accepted as a pure implantology procedure to facilitate placement of dental implants in the posterior atrophic maxilla. Sinus membrane perforation arising during the sinus lift procedure is may be associated with a very severe complication that can induce the failure of vital bone formation in the bone-graft area, the failure of dental implant osseointegration and sinusitis.
