The highest satisfaction was with commitment and work relations (87.0%), while the lowest was with the physiological and safety and security needs (34.09%). Slightly more than half of the nurses (51.0%) were satisfied with all the five- level hierarchy.
• A moderate statistically significant positive correlation between nurses’ psychological empowerment scores and job satisfaction scores (r=0.484).
• Multivariate analysis showed that nurse’s age were the statistically significant positive independent predictors of the job satisfaction score.
• The study concludes that the majority of nurses in the study sample have high level of psychological empowerment, particularly in relation to the domains of competence and meaningfulness. On the contrary, half of nurses are dissatisfied with their job. The scores of nurses’ psychological empowerment and job satisfaction are closely correlated.

More participation of nurses in decision making.
