Abstract Organophosphorus compounds are widely used as biologically active compounds and they have found a wide range of applications in the areas of industry, agriculture and medicinal chemistry. Among the numerous types of organophosphorus compounds, α-aminophosphonates are an important class of molecules due to their applications in biology. For the importance of α-aminophosphonate compounds this thesis concerned on synthesis of novel mono and bis-α-aminophosphonate compounds. The first chapter contains review on the chemistry and biological applications of α-aminophosphonates including synthesis, reactions and biological activity. The second chapter concerned on synthesis and biological evaluation of novel mono and bis-α-aminophosphonate compounds by using various aldehydes and bis-ketones as carbonyl compounds, mono and diaromatic amines and triphenyl phosphite in presence of Lewis acid catalyst. The third chapter describes the general synthetic procedures for α-aminophosphonates and their characterization data. |
