Abstract

The present study extended from April 2014 till the end of November 2014 the study carried out on 100 from frozen fish belonging to four different families (25 herring fish(Clupea harengus ) ,25 mackerel (Scomber scombrus ) , 25 horse mackerel(Trachurus mediterraneus) and 25 fish fillet( Pangasius hypophthalmus) The present study revealed that 73 (73%) out of 100 examined fish were infected with different parasites was fish. The total infected fish by Nematodes Trematodes , Crustacea and Protozoa were 69%, 7 %, 2% and 4% , respectively . Dealing with the susceptibility of examined fish species to parasitic infection .Herring fish (Clupea harengus ) was the most susceptible to parasitic infection at the infection rate 96% for different species of parasites , this followed by Mackerel (Scomber scombrus ) at the infection rate 92% , then the Horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus) at the infection rate 88% and this may be due to herring was higher in body weight and body size larger than other fish . Fish fillet ( Pangasius hypophthalmus)was less susceptible to parasitic infection at the infection rate 16% as this study were on the muscle of fillet only . Dealing with the Nematodes recovered from examined fish , Anisakis simplex was recoverd from Herring fish (Clupea harengus ), Mackerel (Scomber scombrus)and Horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus) , The relative prevalence was 58.5% , 57.28% and 56.04% respectively and the maimley infecting organs were intestine , liver , air sac ,also muscle of fish also infected as reported in horse mackerel and mackerel fish . Contracaecum spp. was recoverd from Herring fish (Clupea harengus ), Mackerel (Scomber scombrus)and Horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus) , The relative prevalence were 17.12%, 24.27% and 19.78%, respectively and the mainely organs infected were peritoneal cavity , intestine , liver surface and gonads Pseudo terranova spp. was recovered from Herring fish (Clupea harengus ), Mackerel (Scomber scombrus)and Horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus) , The relative prevalence were 22.5%, 15.53% and 21.98%, respectively .and the mainly infected organs were intestine ,peritoneal cavity , intestine , liver surface and gonads . Concerning on Trematodes recovered from fish , Clinostomum spp. was recoverd from Fish fillet ( Pangasius hypophthalmus) and Horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus) , The relative prevalence were 16% and 1.1%, respectively . it was infecting intestine of horse mackerel and muscle of fillet , and all examined fishes are free from Monogenean Trematodes. Concerning on Protozoa recovered from fish , Coccidea species was recoverd from Herring fish (Clupea harengus )and Mackerel (Scomber scombrus) , The relative prevalence were 1.8% and 1.9%, respectively . It was infecting intestine of them . from other view Crustacea recovered from fish , Argulus spp. was recoverd from Horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus) and Mackerel (Scomber scombrus) . The relative prevalence were 1.1% and ,97 %, respectively . It was found on skin externally . Also ,there was a different prevalence in each species between male and female , as in Herring fish (Clupea harengus ) . The total noumber of Anisakis simplex was 65 as 39 (60%) in male and 26(40%) in female , whilethe total noumber of Contracaecum spp. was 25 as 14(56%) in male and 11(44%) in female ,and the total noumber of Pseudo terranova spp. was 19 as 5 (26.31%) in male and 14 (73.68%)in female but the total noumber of Coccidea spp. was 2 infected fish , one (50%) in male and one (50%)in female . Mackerel (Scomber scombrus) , Anisakis simplex total number was 59 as 41(69.5%) in male and 18(30.5%) in female ,Contracaecum spp. total number was 25 as 10(40%) in male and 15(60%) in female ,Pseudo terranova spp. total number was 16 as 9 (56.25%) in male and 7 (43.75%)in female , Argulus spp. total number was 1 found in male 1(100%) and Coccidea spp. total number was 2 infected fish one (50%) in male and one (50%)in female, respectively . Horse mackerel (Trachurus mediterraneus) . The total number of Anisakis simplex was 51 as 15(29.5%) in male and 36( 70.5%) in female , the total number of Contracaecum spp. was 20 as 8 (40%) in male and 12(60%) in female , the total number of Pseudo terranova spp. was 18 as 7 (38.89%) in male and 11 (61.11%)in female , the total number of Argulus spp. was 1 found in male 1(100%) and the total number of clinostomum spp. was 1 infected fish (100%)in female . this variatio In body Weight and size of each species.
