Abstract
Speech compression is one of classical topics of speech signal processing. It
is the technology of converting speech signal into an efficiently compressed
or encoded representation to take up less storage space and transmission
bandwidth which can later be decompressed or decoded to produce a close
approximation of the original speech signal. Different algorithms have been
proposed over the years for speech compression. The goal of speech
compression varies according to the specific application, such as improving
the overall speech transmitting, increasing the performance of the voice
through different communication systems and store many speech signals in
low size storage.
