Abstract

Leukaemia is the most common form of cancer in children under the age of 15. Chemotherapy has played an important role in improving patient outcomes in oncology and it is a cornerstone of therapy for most patients with leukaemia. Unfortunately, chemotherapy is often accompanied by a number of unwanted side effects, the most prevalent of which is nausea and vomiting. Despite the introduction of more effective antiemetic drugs since the 1990s. In fact, the incidence of acute and delayed post chemotherapy nausea and vomiting is greater than 50% even after antiemetic prophylaxis.
