Abstract

 The hydrazones and their transition metal complexes have been well documented in the literature as good antimicrobial, anticonvulsant, anticancer, antibacterial and antitumor agents as well as antiviral. The main aim of the present thesis is focused on the preparation and characterization employing elemental analyses, thermal (TG and DrTG), spectral (IR, UV-Visible, 1H NMR and ESR) and magnetic measurements of new complexes of N1, N2- bis(E)-3-( hydroxyimino) butan –2-ylidene) oxalohydrazide) (H4BOH), N’1-((E)-2-oxoindolin- 3-ylidene)- N’2-((Z)- 2-oxoindolin-3- ylidene) oxalohydrazide (H4IOH with Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Hg(II) and U(VI)O2 metal ions. some theoretical calculations was carried out using DFT method. The biological activity was done
 Chapter one displayes different publications concerning the complexation of hydrazones with a great attention to the compounds similar to that investigated and their biological activities.
 The second chapter covers the experimental part and illustrates the experiments used in this work. It includes a list of reagents, stock solutions along with the physical measurements and instrumentation. The working procedures of computational studies were also discussed as well as a description for the preparation of the ligand and its metal complexes. In addition, this chapter includes the recommended procedures for the antibacterial, antioxidant and the antitumor activity of the prepared metal complexes.
 Chapter three deals with the results and discussion which are summa.
