Abstract
Principles of metallic corrosion play a fundamental role in developing industrial processes that employ corrosion for constructive purposes these processes range from the spontaneous processes in galvanic cells such as batteries and fuel cells that convert energy for external applications to electroltic cell processes such as electropolishing electrochemical machining and electrochemical refining that consume energy from external sources each of these processes consists of an electrochemial cell with an andoe, cathode, and conductive medium or electrolyte eash of these processes involves electrochemical oxidation and reduction reactions.
