Abstract 1. To characterize the population status of T. africanum in the study area through i) Study the floristic features including: record of associated species, life-span, life-form spectra and floristic categories of the plant species in the study area. ii) Quantitative analysis of vegetation structure of plant communities in the present study in terms of spatial variations in abundance using multivariate analysis (classification and ordination). iii) Analysis of variations in the edaphic factors to determine the soil factors controlling the distribution of the identified plant communities in the study area. 2. It also aimed to determine i) The contents of ascorbate, glutathione, protein, proline, saponins, alkaloids, pigments, total phenol, total flavonoids. ii) Effect of growth regulators such as IAA, NAA, 2.4-D, and IBA. iii) Allelopathic effect of T. africanum leaf extracts on Portulaca oleracea. iv) The antioxidant activity of T. africanum leaf extracts. v) Antimicrobial activity of the plant extract. |
