Abstract
The present study investigates the effect of mango tree leaves, sunflower seeds and mixture of them (as 2.5 and 5%) on diabetic rats considering the amelioration of diabetes mellitus. For this purpose, the study included 40 rats about 150±10 (g) weight. Biological and chemical analysis of serum and histopathological investigation of internal organs were carried out. The results could be summarized as follows: 1- Due to diabetes, rats BWG, FER decrease, but FI increase. 2- Highest BWG which was recorded for the mango leaves 2.5% diet. This group revealed also maximum appetite and FI. At the same time highest FER was found for sunflower 2.5% and plant mixture 5% groups. 3- Diabetes raised the internal organs weights while the reverse indicated on feeding with Sunflower seeds, mango tree leaves and mixture of all plants (as 2.5 and 5%). 4- Due to diabetes, rats serum glucose level raise, but when feeding on.
