Abstract A total of 215 samples were collected from different localities in EL-Sharkia province including milk (173) from apparently healthy and mastitic cow and different meat products (sausage, burger and minced meat). All the samples were transported for isolation of S.aureus. Forty S.aureus isolates were recovered from milk and meat products. All S.aureus isolates gave golden yellow pigmentation on milk agar, β-haemolytic and coagulase and catalase tests positive. S.aureus isolates were sensitive to vancomycin. Meanwhile all isolates were resistant to methicillin being MRSA. PCR amplifications of qacA/B and qacC genes among 22 S.aureus isolates showed that no isolates contained any of the three genes. |
