Abstract
Exposure to fipronil led to significant increase in Ugt1a1and Sult1b1 activity at both durations of administration (45 and 90 days), Total T3 level showed significant increase in fipronil-administerd group for 45 days and significant decrease in fipronil-administerd group for 90 days, total T4 level showed non significant decrease in fipronil-administerd group for 45 days and significant decrease in fipronil-administerd group for 90 days, non significant increase in serum TSH level for 45 days, at 90 days, non significant decrease in its level was noticed. The electron microscopic examination of the thyroid gland showed significant changes at 45 and 90 days and also pathological lesions were noticed in liver, thyroid gland, brain after the exposure to fipronil for 45 and 90 days.
