Abstract
The main aim of this thesis is to study the CBIR using color and texture features. To achieve this aim, two studies have been conducted.
In the first study, we investigated the effect of color quantization schemes for different color spaces on the performance of content-based image retrieval. The first algorithm is based only on the color feature, while the second one is based on combination of the color and texture features.
In the second study, we investigated the use of image partitioning in CBIR.We have proposed two CBIR algorithms that are based on image partitioning. The retrieval in the first algorithm is based only on the color feature, while the retrieval in the second one is based on combination of the color and texture features. Within these algorithms, we have applied two proposed image matching procedures.
