Abstract
This work was carried out to study the antimicrobial activity of forty five medicinal plants against the growth of multi-drug resistant oral pathogens isolated from oral and dental infections of human oral cavity comparable with the antimicrobial efficacy of commomly used drugs, toothpastes and mouth rinses. The results obtained during this investigation could be summarized as follows : The clinical and microbiological features of one hundred and forty patients with the diagnosis of orodental infections (general oral and dental infections) were tested in this study. Results showed that, dental caries has the highest percentage of occurrence (50%), followed by periodontitis represented (28.6%), gingivitis (17.9%), and oral candidiasis represented (3.6%).
