Abstract Egyptian cotton crop is suffering from many problems most important to increase production costs and cotton occupies the ground almost 7 months, which increases the cost of production from the ground processing, which led to a decline in cotton area. Mechanical transplanting has the following advantages: cotton planting on a large scale- to be set free from seed down removing- suitable production conditions for cotton crop- increasing of agricultural intensive degree- facilitate the use of mechanization in the followed operations such as cultivating and harvesting. So, the objective of this work was development and evaluates the field performance of Holland type transplanter under local conditions for cotton production in small holding. The obtained results could be summarized as follows:- The highest value of the productivity was 7.38 (kentar/fed.) found at 2.40 km/h transplanting speed, 12 cm transplanting depth and 25cm transplanting spacing. The highest value of quality of feed index was 95.37 to 96.02 (%) found at 1.90 to 2.40 km/h transplanting speed, 12 cm transplanting depth and 20 to 25 cm transplanting spacing. |
