Abstract The aim of this thesis is to synthesize some novel heterocyclic compounds starting from easily obtainable 1-naphthyl-2-cyanoacetamide. Therefore, the work have been divided into two parts; the first one is the synthesis of 1-naphthyl-2-cyanoacetamide and study its behavior towards some different nucleophiles and electrophiles to attain poly functionally substituted heterocyclic system of potential pharmaceutically interest. The second part is the application of the synthesized compounds. Thirteen of the newly synthesized target compounds were selected to be evaluated for their in vitro antibacterial activity against Gram positive bacteria as Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis and Gram negative bacteria as Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Escherichia coli. Also some prepared compounds was selected to be organic additives in aqueous solutions which used as corrosion inhibitors. |
