Abstract The present study aimed to evaluate the impact of a training program on staff nurse’s documentation performance on the pediatric hospital at Zagazig University Hospitals. The study was carried out on a sample of 50 nurses in various departments of the pediatric hospital at Zagazig university hospitals. Study tools included pre, post / questionnaire sheet and observation check list developed by the researcher. Results showed that the majority of nurses’ ages ranged between 20-30 years old. It was highly significant in LC.U. than hemodialysis ward and the incubator ward, p<0.05. According to the result, it can be noticed that there was no statistically significant correlation between the performance scores after the training program and either of age or years of experience, of the studied nurses, P>0.05.The study concludes that the training program led to significant -improvement of knowledge and performance of nurses as regards nursing documentation for pediatric patient care. The study recommended that there should be a systemic supervision, follow- up and guidance to the nurses, which would be properly matched to their work assignment and nursing duties. Further studies should be conducted to generalize the results, conclusions and recommendations of the present study. |
