Abstract Alzheimer disease (AD) is the predominant form of dementia in the elderly. It is more common in postmenopausal women The pathological features of AD include the presence of amyloid plaques, soluble amyloid-ß (Aß), oligomers, neurofibrillarly tangles, neuritic dystrophy, synaptic loss and eventual neurodegeneration. Areas of brain affected by AD were denoted in the hippocampal, cortical, basal forebrain and cortex neurons, the inferior temporal cortex and cerebellum. |
