The aim of this study is to evaluate the sub-bottom geological setting and possibility of hydrocarbon traps in the study area. The raw data include the available geological and geophysical information of the Bouguer gravity data and one seismic section. The Bouguer data has been recorded together with the magnetic and the seismic data, under the supervision of the Western Desert Petroleum Company (WEPCO) and phillips petroleum Company (PPCO). The data was kindly provided by NEPCO after the kind approval of the Egyptian General Petroleum corporation (E.G.P.C). Isolation of Bouguer gravity anomalies and estimation of some possible regional gravity trend are carried out. through the application of various filtering techniques such as Griffen’s and filtering of least squares, on the. |
