Abstract This thesis comprises from chapters: In chapter 1 a literature on silver(II) complexes was given and mentioned. This survey clarified several points. (i) Only few silver(II) complexes have been reported as a result of the lower stability of these complexes. (ii) Sil- ver(II) complexes have been used for oxidation of organic compounds. (iii) The magnetic and structural properties of silver(II) compounds are really in need of large and deep efforts. Because of these points the complexes of silver (II), as one member of the coinage metals, with some nitrogen donor ligands have been undertaken in this study. The Chapter 2 is devoted for the experimental part. preparation of silver (II) complexes of methyl isonicotinate (Me-ison), ethyl isonicotinate (Et-ison), methyl nicotinate (Me-nic), ethyl nicotinate (Et-nic), 2-, 3- and 4-acetyl pyridines (Acpy), pyridine-2-acetic acid (2-py.A-H), α- pyridoin (a-pyon), citrazinic acid (cit-H3) and mixed ligand complexes of citrazinic acid and pyridine or picolines (pic) are described. The instruments used for the physical measurements and the computer used for the theoretical calculations are described. |
