Abstract Further studies around the incorporation of various (5,6,7,8,9) oxides into Ca,Si05 were also reported in the literature. In particular, the combined substitution of Mg0, A1203 and Fe2O3 resembles very closely the alite phase in clinker; accordingly, the results revealed several apects of the nature of this phase. (10) (6). Recent investigations established that pure trical- cium silicate possesses no compositional range, but repres- ents a stoichiometric compound of composition 3 Cao .Si02 This disagrees with results by Boikova and Toropov found an excess of 0.5-1.0 wt % Cao in pure tricalcium sil- icate, corresponding to ratios Cao: Si02 of 3.02-3.04. Replacement of Ca in 6-coordinated (VI) poisitions: who (1) (Ca- Me) (C&1-x vl Sio (Ca/Me = 1.0) 3 with Me = Zn, Mg. The limits of solid solution for Mgo and ZnO are strongly dependent on temperature. At 1550°C up to 2.0 wt.% Mg and at 1400°C up to 5.0 wt.% ZnO can be incorporated into Ca,Si05. For MgO,very similar results have been obtained by Locher (11) and by Midgley and Fletcher12. |
