Abstract

1. General Outlines
The demand of water is
increasing day by day for
power generations. The
drinking, irrigation, industry and
surface fresh water supplies are relatively not enough to face the needs of the various uses. Therefore, groundwater is the most important source to support this requirements. In order to locate the groundwater occurrences, several
techniques are developed. Among these techniques is the geophysical exploration methods. However, the geology of the area beside structures and stratigraphy provide the outline within which the groundwater recharge, storage and discharge take place. These are important factors in understanding the occurrences of the groundwater.
The region west of the Nile Delta including El Sadat City received, during the last two decades, special attention owing to its water and soil potentials. The occurrence and distribution of groundwater supplies are governed by the geographic location, the sedimentary geologic structure and physiographic
sequence,features.
