Abstract

Salinity represents one of the most important factors which exert stress injury on the metabolism of plant cells salinity could be regarded as one of the most important factors affecting the distribution growth or even the existence of both microscopic and macroscopic algae in the different parts of the world the effect of salinity variations on growth osmoreguation and metabolism of algae have been studied by many workers most of the work that have been done on the effect of salinity variations on growth of algae shows that maximum growth of most algae usually occurs in media approximately equal to the standard habitat salinity.
