Abstract
Several studies have been carried out on the river Nile, However, relatively few Iimnological investigations were made on the Nile within Egypt, The development of river basins for conservation and better utilization of the waters for agriculture and power generation has gained importance all over the world. in the African continent, small and large dams have been erected on several rivers in order to assist in the development of natural resources. A few of the created man-made lakes are very large, such as Kariba Lake, High Dam Lake and Volta Lake, The High Dam Lake one of the greatest artificial lakes in the world. Due to the great importance of this lake, {t attracted the attention of several investigators. Accounts of the earliest work on the conditions in the High Dam Lake since the beginning of its have already been made.
