Abstract Mullets (Mugilidae) are of great economic importance. They also have great potential in aquaculture projects. Therefore, the present study was carried out on the fisheries and biology of M. cephalus of family Mugilidae inhabiting the Ain Ghazala, Libya, Mediterranean Sea. Mullets were monthly collected during the period between September 2007 till August 2008 from Ain Ghazala, Mediterranean Sea. The biological aspects included study area description, species description, length weight relationships, condition factor, food and feeding and reproductive biology. In addition fisheries of Mullet were achieved in the present work. The present study was focused on the Mugil cephaius. The results can be summarized as follows. |
