Abstract
The present study was divided into two studies the first study was aimed to compare between postpartum cyclic and acyclic dairy cows in large dairy farm. This comparison included ,milk production , BCS ,open days, CR , blood film for detection of blood parasites, DIM at 1st insemination , progesterone level in blood serum , lactation number , health disturbance during the first 50 DIM (mastitis , lameness , metritis , displaced abomasums and to show the effect of injection of GnRH hormone in typical repeat breeder cows during insemination on CR.
The second study was aimed to select the best method for induction of estrus cycle of acyclic cows from three methods used in treatment:
a) CIDR + Ovsynch.protocol.( 24 cows )
b) GnRH hormone +Calcium+ Dextrose 25% + AD3E injection.(16 cows)
c) Folligon ( PMSG ) one shot 1000 IU.( 14 cows).
This study was carried out on 120 dairy cows in a large commercial farm in Egypt ( Al Biome farms)
The cows were divided into two groups :
Group 1: Normal postpartum cyclic cows. must be observed in estrus signs during the first 45 DIM ( n═ 21) , typical repeat breeder cows ( n═ 21) and atypical repeat breeder cows ( n═ 24).
