Abstract Aquaculture is a fast developing industry. However, unmanaged fish culture practices and adverse environmental conditions affect the fish health leading to production losses. Thus, fish farmers have to carry out careful husbandry practices . Prevention of disease is much more desirable than intervention to stop and reverse the disease process once it begins. Hence, instead of chemotherapeutic agents, increasing attention is being paid to the use of immunostimulants for disease control measures in aquaculture. Immunological parameters used to asses the levamisole HCL and ginger induced systemic humoral immunity includes the indirect heamagglutination (IHA) .plate agglutination test and statistical analysis of serum protien fractions of vaccinates by poly achyramide gel electrophorsis .Immunity to A.hydrophila challenge was estamited by calculation of the mean survival time ,number of survival/ total (S/T) challenged . The immunostimulatory potential of levamisole in fish is of considerable interest in the present scenario of aquaculture in combating the bacterial and parasitic disease of fish. |
