Abstract

Aluminum is recognized as a neurotoxic element which is widely distributed in the environment. Aluminum is absorbed in the bodt primarity through the figestive tract, and also through the lung and the skin and accumulated in the body tissues. The main source of ingested aluminum is through food additives, often found in packed goods prepared with chemical leavening agents, aluminum passed food dyes and colors and some processed cheese. It is unclear whether normal environmental levels of aluminum especially aluminum contained in food, exert any toxic effects without the aid of other substances. Since the toxic effects of environmental factors are usually enhanced by their interactions with other factors.
