Abstract Exercise t e s t ia one of the most widely used non invasive diagnostic t e s t s i n cardiovascular medicine. The t e s t is mainly used for evaluating p a t i e n t s with chest p a i n i n whom coronary a r t e r y disease is mspected. Sxercise t e s t has the advantages of being simple, inexpensive and safe. However the high incidence of f a l s e positive and f a l s e negat i v e r e s u l t s has been repeatedly c r i t i c i s e d . The c l a s s i c a l method of exercise t e s t interpret a t i o n depends upon the dection and evaluation of exercise induced ST segment depression. Recently other c r i t e r i a for t e s t i n t e r p r e t a t i o n were studied and recommended by many authors. These c r i t e r i a includes R wave amplitude changes, &, RST index, changes i n the QT i n t e r v a l and G.X/QT r a t i o , exercise induced arrhythmia, U wave inversion and, changes i n heat r a t e and blood pressure. The a i m of this ;vork is to study the diagnostic value of each of these c r i t e r i a and to compare them ~Icith the c l a s s i c a l ST segmest depression i n agroup of p a t i e n t s with norffial r e s t i n g electrocardi.o(gram. Also the value of the exercise t e s t i n predicting the severity of coronary a r t e r y disease is invest |
