Abstract
Head nurse is a professional nurse who is responsible for one hospital unit where nursing care is provided. Managerial functions of head nurse are classified as planning, organizing, directing and controlling. Headnurses make stream decision, without decisions action will not be possible and resources will not be put into use. Such significant decisions have a major impact not only on the management system itself but also on the career of head nurses who make decisions. The present research aimed to assess the performance of decisionmaking process among the head nurses. The study was conducted at El-Mehala and El-Menshawi General Hospital. The subject included all (95) head nurses divided as (45) working at El-Menshawi and (50) working at El-Mehala General Hospital.
