Abstract

Phenotypic and genotypic studies of P. aeruginosa isolated from cattle and its antibiotic interaction by antibacterial sensitivity test of isolated P. aeruginosa against different groups of antibiotics. Then Molecular typing of isolated strains using RAPD-PCR and Plasmid profile of isolated strains.
A total of 270 milk samples were collected from private and governmental cows, farms (200 samples from mastitic cows and 70 from apparently healthy cows). The samples were collected from different provinces (130 samples from Dakhlia, 66 samples from Sharkia and 74samples from Damietta).
The samples were collected in clean sterile screw capped bottles (30 ml capacity). Each sample was labeled to show the animal species, date of sampling and serial number. Collected samples were transferred to the laboratory with a minimum delay. Each sample represented one case and was incubated at 37°C for 24 hrs before cultivation onto solid media.
The occurrence of P. aeruginosa in bovine mastitic milk and apparently healthy milk samples, where 20 isolates of P. aeruginosa were isolated from 270 total milk samples in a percentage of 7.4%.
Damietta providence showed the highest percentage P.aeruginosa isolates 8.1% followed by Sharkia providence and Dakhlia providence (7.6% and 6.9% respectively).
