Abstract laryngeal carcinoma is the most common malignancy of the head and neck and the second commonest tumour of respiratory system mostly presented in adults between 50 and 70 years old with strong male predominance .Several risk factors are associated with laryngeal carcinoma. Of these , smoking is one of the most important factors and is consistently associated with the development of laryngeal SCC. Alcohol consumption and papillomatous infection also increase the risk. All laryngeal masses are squamous cell carcinoma which arise from the mucosal surface and some are detected by laryngoscopic comination. |
