Abstract A simple, rapid, sensitive and inexpensive method has been developed for the determination of micro amount of some metal ions [Cu(II), Hg(II), Cr(III), Ni(II), Zn(II), Pb(II)] in different water samples by using different types of prepared azo dyes. The metals ion give a colored complex with the azo dyes in citrate buffer, phosphate buffer and universal buffer with 1:1 (metal: ligand) composition. Beer’s law is obeyed in trace analytical range. The molar absorptivity, Sandell’s sensitivity and detection limit were calculated. The correlation coefficient of the metals ions complex were more than 0.995. The developed method has been successfully applied for the analysis of metals ion in different water samples. The validity of the method has been tested. |
