Abstract The present work is mainly a floristic treatment of Liguliflorae in as much samples Egypt. It seems of importance as possible. Therefore, and to study with the kind help of examined all University the cur a tors. I had surveyed and cr it i call y samples of Liguliflorae deposited in Cairo Herbarium ( CA I ) ; Herbarium section. i\gricullur·al Museum, Dokki (CAlM) and /\in Shams University Herbarium (CAIA). In addition. fresh materials for 36 taxa were also collected from several localities of the Mediterranean region and Sinia. 1\ lI these co I I eel ions (3·12) are deposited at /\in Shams Univeristy Herbarium (C/\11\). lnspite of such extensive surveying of the samples ot Liguliflorae. did nol get hold of Helminlhia. The occurcnce of this genus among the Liguliflorae in Egypt needs con f irma lion. As a result of such extensive examination of all these collections. I have been able lo construct an identification key for the genera of l.iguliflorae in Egypt. 1 hope that the presented key wi 11 cease much of Lhc interferences o·hich used to happen in the past. For the specific level 8 identification keys are also presented for Crepis. LacLuca. Limnaea. Picris. Sco1ymus. Scorzonera. Sonchus and Taraxacum.
