Abstract
IINTRODUCTION
The production of red meat and milk in Egypt is not
enough to satisfy the requirements of the progressively
increasing population. Thus, a gap was created and had to be
filled by improving meat and dairy products and this policy
has put a large borden on the Egyptian economy.
As dairy animals, buffaloes are rated the first as they
produce 1.4 rrillion tons of rrilk i.e 65 % of the total
national production of milk. Besides they produce 149000 tons
of red meat (45.6 % of ~he national produc~icn of red ~eat).
The prices of animal products are also gating higher and
being affected by the increase demand for consumption and the
increased prices of feedstuffs. In addition, the quantity of
feed stuff in Egypt become below ~he demand and its price is
progressively increasing during ~he few last years. from an
econonical point of vie~ it is better to use animal feeding
s~uffs which are cheeper

of replacing different levels of the crude protein of the
concentrate feed mix~ure by dried broiler lit~er on heifer’s
growth and some reproductive performance.
