Abstract

The steam surface condenser is efficient device in steam power plant; the main function of steam surface condenser is consumption of the exhaust steam from turbines and converts it into pure condensate. In order to increase the efficiency of this process, we have to succeed in maintaining the vacuum pressure resulted in the condenser as minimum as possible with the help of the removed-noncondensables equipments and foulant materials in cooling water tubes Fouling is a significant problem that influences the stearn surface condenser performance which is defined as the accumulation of unwanted materials inion cool ing water tubes of steam surface condenser.In this research, we will study the thermal effects of fouling occurrence on steam surface condenser by using steam surface condenser design software.Fouling effects can be minimized either by cleaning of steam surface condenser(mechanically or chemically or by changing the design of steam surface condenser which is proven to be the most effective method of reducing fouling effect
