Abstract
The work r-ecorded in this thesis deals with developing
simple, sensitive and selective methods fer
microdetermination of some antidepressant drugs using
spectrophotometry, atomic absorption spectrometry and ion
...
selective electrode techniques •. The present thesis is divided
into four chapters. The historical review has been covered by
238 references and the experimental results are presented in
17 Tables and 23 Figures throughout the thesis •
/Chapter 1 describes the various methods available in
the literature for determination of amitriptyline,
imipramine, orphenadrine and some other antidepressant drugs;~
Spectrochemical (e.g., ultraviolet, visible and Fluorimetry),
electrochemical (e.g., polarography, voltammetcy and
potentiometry), volumetric (e,g,, acid-base, argentometry,
cxidimetry and complexornetry), chromatography (e.g., column,
paper,thin-layer, gas-liquid and high performance liquid
chromatography) and miscellaneous methods(e,g., solvent’
extraction, radioimmunoassay, thermal analysis and
gravimetey) have been discussed.
