Abstract

SUMMARY
Acne vugaris is a common inflammatory pilosebaceous disease
characterized by comedones, papules, pustules, inflamed nodules and
superficial pus-filled cysts. Lesions are most common on the face, but
the neck, chest, upper back, and shoulders may also be affected. Acne
can cause scarring and considerable psychological distress .
Acne occurs most commonly during adolescence, and often
continues into adulthood. In adolescence, acne is usually caused by an
increase in male sex hormones, which occurs in people of both genders
during puberty. For most people, acne diminishes over time and tends to
disappear ,or at the very least decrease ; after one reaches one’s early
twenties. There is, however, no way to predict how long it will take to
disappear entirely, and some individuals will carry this condition well
into their thirties, forties, and beyond
Zinc is an essential trace element which is necessary for plant
and animal life, including microorganisms. It is the second most
common abundant trace element in the human body and , in , such a
member of one of the major subgroups of the micronutrients that have
been attained such promince in human nutrition and health.
Zinc makes up a part of more than 300 enzymes in the body.
Important zinc containing metalloenzymes in human include carbonic
anhydrase, ribonucleic acid (RNA) and deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)
polymerase, thymidine kinase, carboxypeptides . Zinc is the only metal
encountered in each class,i.e. oxidoreductases, transferases, hydrolases,
lyases, isomerases and ligases. Its physical and chemical properties make
