Abstract

A total number of 1080 fishes of different fish species were collected alive at Sohag Governorate; the samples
represented 540 cultured fishes and 540 wild fishes. The
cultured fishes involved 180 O. niloticus, 180 T. zilli and180
C. idella that were collected from El-Ahaywa fish hatchery.
The wild fishes involved 180 O. niloticus, 180 T. zilli and180
C. gariepinus that were collected from River Nile tributaries at
Sohag City. The collected fish were examined microscopically
for the presence of Trichodina parasites
