Abstract The current study aims to evaluate the influence of fasting during Ramadan on the glucose, free fatty acids, ketone bodies and triglycerides levels during the first half of pregnancy. The study was conducted at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ghamra Military Hospital in Cairo, during Ramadan 1407 (lunar year), 1987 A. C. fasting in that year was from around 3 a.m. to around 7 p.m. daily for the whole month, thus it was for around 16 hours and this is considered the longest duration for Ramadan fasting through all the years |
